Guidelines for completing this ABC Group Conscience Survey Ballot –
Prior to completing this ballot, download the item details at www.acawso.com/abc/Survey_Ballot.pdf and discuss them at your meeting, leading to a group conscience decision on each of the itesm presented. One of the members should then complete the ballot and submit it as the decisions from the group.
In December, every registered meeting and Intergroup of Adult Children of Alcoholics was invited to submit issues for consideration at the 2010 Annual Business Conference. Four items of business were proposed. Each ACA meeting and Intergroup is now requested to schedule a group conscience discussion and vote on which of these four items should be considered at the 2010 ABC.
A group conscience is a spiritual method by which a Higher Power is invited into our discussions and decisions on matters affecting the fellowship. As each ACA member shares his or her point of view on the issues being considered, a collective wisdom emerges. Resulting group conscience decisions reflect, as much as possible, both the will of the group and the spirit of the ACA fellowship.
Following the group conscience vote, one group member should complete and submit this online ballot for the group. All ballots received by April 15, 2010 will be counted as part of the collective group conscience vote of the ACA fellowship. Items supported by at least 2/3rds of the groups responding will be discussed as business at the 2010 ABC. Issues approved at the ABC may then serve as items for WSO action in the coming year.
Please note: Only one ballot should be submitted for each ACA Meeting and/or InterGroup.
