SUMMARY:ACA Play Day on the Bay - Exploring Promise 7
DESCRIPTION:Download Flyer Here \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n  \n  \nTheme: Promise 7 “We will learn to play and have fun in our lives” \nLocation: Elk Neck State Park\, North Beach Area\, Pavilion #2 \nDate: Saturday\, August 26\, 2023 \nDirections: Take the 2nd exit off I 95 (southbound) in Maryland\, Exit 100A Maryland Route 272 South\, follow this road about 19 miles to the Elk Neck State Park.\nTurn RIght onto North East Beach Road. The guard house will be open and charge $5 per person for out of state Vehicles ($3 per person for Maryland vehicles) Follow to the parking lot turn left at the first pavilion and park in the last parking lot the pavilion will be at the end on the right. We will have signs out to guide you\, look for the balloons!\n***Google and apple maps will give you a different route that is a few miles shorter and much more scenic\, with a few extra turns.\nNOTE: Gas is usually 10 cents per gallon lower in Delaware and Maryland \nDescription:\nJust over an hour outside of Philadelphia to the south east\, is a small town of North East Maryland. Elk Neck State park has a beach area open to the North East river and Susquehanna Flats area of the Chesapeake Bay where the Estuary is mostly freshwater\, it is only 3-5 feet deep before the shipping channels\, which are clearly marked off. There is a small sandy beach area and lots of open grassy fields for playing\, sunbathing and swimming. For those not interested in laying on the beach there are trails to hike and birds to spot. Bald eagles\, great blue heron\, osprey and vultures are plentiful in the area along with red-tail hawks along with lots of smaller birds. The Turkey Point lighthouse should be open to climb. This lighthouse is well known for its last light keeper and the first officially recognized female keeper\, Fannie May Salter. \nWarning: the area between the water and sand is very rocky and not easy to walk on\, it is suggested to wear water shoes or sneakers. \nWe will have the Pavillion and surrounding area from 9am to sunset so we can just gather and chat or meet new friends. Perhaps we can get some board or card games and crafts going too! Our suggestion is you take as much of the day to play and have fun and we gather in the Pavilion at 5 pm\, a few hours before sunset (which is when the park closes) and discuss what we learn about what stops us from playing and how important play is to our vitality and creativity. I suggest car pooling when possible because the park charges an entry fee of $5 per person for out of state vehicles. \nWe will provide some toys and basic grilling supplies\, but we ask you to bring something to contribute. Things we would like: sand toys\, outdoor toys\, etc\, side dishes\, fruit\, beverages and snacks \nFood: we will supply charcoal for grilling and all the tools\, and vegetarian or beef\, hot dogs and burgers with buns and the expected condiments. \nVolunteers: We will have a sign up sheet for volunteers for the grills and clean up\, so please feel free to volunteer for service \nPlease email paacaevents@gmail.com to help us get an idea of how much food to bring or if you want to bring a side\, snacks or beverages! \nBRING what you need for a day outdoors ie. Reusable water bottle\, sun screen\, towel\, hat\, sun glasses\, water shoes\, TOYS and GAMES!!! \nMeeting Times\n11Am – Topic: What stops me from playing?\n5PM – Topic: What does play teach me? \n  \n  \nSponsored by PA ACA Intergroup #599

SUMMARY:Heart Centered Inner Child Multi-Generational Meditation
DESCRIPTION:The ACA Southeast Florida Intergroup is offering a great workshop on Saturday\, August 26 from 1:00-3:00pm at First Unitarian Church\, 635 Prosperity Farms Rd in North Palm Beach.  The title of the workshop is “Heart Centered Inner Child Multi-Generational Meditation.” \n  \nThe workshop will be facilitated by fellow traveler\, Sue N.  She learned the meditation from Tony A. (the founder of ACoA) when he was still alive and doing workshops in Palm Beach County.  The mediation process will help us connect with 7 generations to recognize the baggage that has been passed down to us through the generations.  That baggage could cause us shame and to act out the laundry list traits\, but this workshop will show us it is not our fault! \n  \nCLICK HERE to get more details from the ACA Intergroup Website.
