At the 2018 ACA Annual Business Conference, a working group was formed to take a closer look at reports of predatory behavior occurring within the fellowship. For more information on our work and resources already developed, please see https://acawso.org/category/apb/

One of the goals of this working group is to start a fellowship-wide discussion about the issue of predatory behavior and the effects it has on the fellowship as a whole, especially its newcomers. Another goal is the development of resources for members, groups, intergroups, and newcomers to address predatory behaviors within the ACA fellowship.  

We are currently collaborating with the ACA Literature committee to put together a special issue of the ACA member quarterly ComLine on Addressing Predatory Behavior in ACA. If you would like to share your experience on this important topic with the fellowship, in writing, or in another artistic form, such as art, photography, or poetry, please send your submission to [email protected] by December 15, 2018. Our goal is to publish this ComLine special issue in February 2019.

If you are interested in contributing to our Special Issue ComLine on Addressing Predatory Behavior in ACA, please review the following instructions:

  • Submissions can be 250, 350 to 500 words.
  • Submissions may include art, photos or poetry.
  • Please include a release form, which can be found at www.adultchildren.org/comline. This form allows you to specify if you prefer to be anonymous for your authorship in this ComLine Special Issue.
  • Please send your submission and release form to [email protected] by December 15, 2018.
