Report covering the month of February 2018

The DCOC works with and advises the WSO General Manager.
Committee members: Bill D., David McB., Jim B., Mary Jo L., and Pat H.
We meet weekly with the General Manager, Tammie Garcia.

Since the last teleconference we worked on the following:

1. Inventory Issues:
a. Asked the Literature Committee to reformat the Cross Talk booklet.
b. Continue to work on inventory re-order levels. This will become easier when all retail fulfillment is brought back in-house from the 3rd party fulfillment center in Illinois.
c. David has forwarded a request to the Literature Committee to write a procedure for how re-orders are handled that specifies who is responsible for proofreading changes, etc.
d. Preparing to ship books to start selling through Amazon Canada.
e. Reviewing a capacity plan that will help make better inventory quantity ordering decisions.

2. Shopping Cart:
a. Continue to work on making sure shipping charges are as accurate as possible.
b. Jim is working on low inventory alerts for the office.

3. New Hires: Tammie is in the process of hiring two full-time employees - Warehouse Associate and Office/Warehouse Associate

4. Forklift: we are still considering bids to determine whether to purchase or lease a motorized forklift.

5. Voicemails: We had some confusion earlier in February about the handling of voicemails between MPS and the Office, which was cleared up. With the hiring of Eleni as an MPS Special Worker, it will take some of the pressure off of the office staff.

6. Intergroup Discount Program: we are suggesting to the Board that language be added to the discount registration form that IGs that participate in this program should have a minimum number of meetings that they represent and that they understand books are only to be re-sold to those meetings. This suggestion comes as a result of complaints received.

7. OPPM: At the request of the OPPM Committee, reviewed and made further changes to Section XI of the OPPM for recommendation to the Board.
