SEPTEMBER 2018 DTSC REPORT

An FAQs page has been completed and is ready for posting. A letter advising on the Delegate’s role with Ballot Proposals and their group has been completed. However, the link to Getting Started and other educational literature has disappeared from the website. Need to further explore this. A Tradition workshop titled Why Traditions Matter which explores the relationship of the Laundry List Traits, triggers, Parliamentary Procedures and spiritual principles as the guides to effective and efficient business meetings and the delegate role in the voting process of the ABC is underway. Upcoming tasks include gaining access to delegates as they register for the ABC on the host site for an introduction to the DTSC resources and Welcome Letter. A Before, During and After the ABC document is currently underway to inform delegates on suggested timeline to prepare for the ABC. AUGUST 2018 DTSC Report

The Delegate Training Subcommittee held an August teleconference to review and receive questions and answers for a FAQ page. We are still open to receiving questions. A Welcome Letter to service as a Delegate and “Getting Started” documents have been updated. We will be looking at how to make these documents more accessible, visible on the website year round to encourage service. A workshop on running effective business meetings with a focus on The Traditions is currently being prepared for various possibilities to educate not only Delegates but Groups and Intergroups. This would prepare Delegates for the ABC and allow access to learning prior to the ABC therefore allowing more time at the ABC for proposals, new business, etc..It may also be a possibility for use as a workshop at the AWC. An email with the following information was sent to all ACA group contacts on August 1st.  Please contact meetings@acawso.com if your group did not receive this email.   ABC Proposals Due November 30th Dear Fellow ACAs, You are receiving this email because you are listed as the contact person for an ACA Meeting or Intergroup or Region registered with the World Service Organization. Please share this information with your group. And now to the direct business at hand . . . Each year the ACA WSO holds our Annual Business Conference (ABC) and ACA World Convention (AWC) in April. This coming year they will be held April 25-28, 2019 in Malmo, Sweden. Prior to the ABC, ACA Meetings, Intergroups and Regions (Groups) from around the world, which are registered with World Service, have an opportunity to submit proposals that they feel may benefit ACA as a whole. These proposals are then sent out to all registered ACA Groups worldwide in the form of a Ballot. This will be an opportunity for all Groups to participate in the process by then returning their ballot, indicating which proposals they wish to see included in the ABC agenda.
