Dear Fellowship Members and Delegates,
We hope this message finds you well. In response to recent inquiries about future book pricing and potential tariff impacts, we’re writing to provide a clear update—and, we hope, some reassurance—regarding the production of our English and translated ACA literature.
Book Printing Update
Since the pandemic, we have primarily printed our annual English inventory in India, where we found faster turnaround times and more favorable pricing during U.S. supply chain disruptions. For 2025, we are currently requesting bids from three reputable printing partners:
- Thomson Press (India)
- CMC Nordic (Latvia)
- Sheridan Printing (USA)
Our current print requests include the following replenishment quantities:
- 15,000 copies of Yellow Workbook (YWB)
- 10,000 copies of Strengthening My Recovery (SMR) (softcover)
- 8,000 copies of A New Hope
Additional quote requests for our remaining titles will follow in the coming months.
Tariff Developments
We understand that recent U.S. tariff announcements have raised concerns. We are pleased to report that, based on our research and confirmation from Thomson Press’s logistics experts, printed books remain exempt from the new tariff increases. Specifically, materials classified under Chapter 49 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS)—which includes books, brochures, and other printed literature—continue to carry a 0% duty rate.
As noted by Thomson Press:
“If Thomson Press exports informational materials to the U.S. which are properly classified under Chapter 49… the U.S. is neither applying any customs tariff nor the 10% flat tariff on such goods.”
Our independent review, including updates as of April 2025, confirms this exemption. While tariff policies are always subject to change, ACA literature currently falls outside the scope of the reciprocal tariffs enacted this spring.
Our Commitment
We remain vigilant and will continue to monitor developments in trade policy and keep the fellowship and their delegates updated. Rest assured, we are committed to making prudent financial decisions that maintain reliable and affordable access to ACA literature worldwide.
Thank you for your continued trust and support.
In fellowship and service,
