January 2014 ABC Report:
The 2014 West Great Lakes Intergroup Chair, Al, and I spoke last on December 31, 2013 and discussed plans for the ABC.
Plans are still in the works for providing a van to pick up attendees from the Chicago airports. Ability for the volunteers of WGLI to get needed information for the pickups has to be worked out. Al is going to speak to the webmaster for the WGLI to see what could be worked out. It would be necessary for requests for transportation from the airport to the hotel/meeting places to be sent a few days before the conference begins if a website notification is available.
Apparently during the time of the ABC is also a busy time for restaurants in the area, so it was recommended that evening meals on Friday and Saturday nights be catered by Trinity’s catering staff. Details and costs are still to be worked out.
The hotel information will be posted before the end of January on the 2014 ABC web page.
About 23 ballots were received and an analysis of the impact of each motion on the financial and work areas of ACA WSO are being done by board members. Once this is completed, the ballots will be sent out to the fellowship for final voting on each motion. Hopefully these will be sent out by the first week of February. The ballots receiving a 2/3 approval vote from the groups/intergroups will be placed on the agenda for discussion and voting at the 2014 ABC.
