ACA Annual Business Conference - April 25 & 26, 2019
ACA World Convention - April 26 (evening), 27 & 28, 2019

ABC Ballot Voting
In advance of the ABC in April, meeting groups and Intergroups, worldwide, are asked to cast their opinions on whether or not each Proposal merits discussion at the upcoming Business Conference. The 14 ballot proposals are posted here. The deadline for submitting group conscience votes is March 31st.  More information can be found on the Ballot Prep Committee Page. Any questions may be submitted to [email protected]

Each Meeting and Intergroup Designates a Delegate
The business of the WSO is conducted at the ABC primarily by the Delegates, who are chosen by their group to be their representative. Some information about becoming a Delegate – the role and responsibilities – may be found on the  Delegate Training Page. This page will be updated periodically, so refer back, as needed.

The Deadline for Registering as a Remote Delegate is March 31st.

Delegate Registration and Training
All Delegates, whether in attendance or at a distance, must register first at acaworldconvention.org.  Trainings, and opportunities for questions and answers, will be available in the weeks leading up to the ABC. As mentioned above, all delegates may find pertinent information on the Delegate Training Page.

Delegate Training Subcommittee (DTSC)
The purpose of the DTSC is to serve as a resource to help educate Delegates and Alternate Delegates of groups and Intergroups to the ABC.  Educational documents to prepare for their role are currently available on the DTSC Webpage.  Questions may be directed to [email protected].

ComLine Deadline Extended
The deadline to submit art, photo, and shares for the Apr 1st ComLine has been extended to March 8th.  The focus of this edition will be Steps, Traditions, and Promises 4, 5, and 6.  We'd love to hear from you!  Please include the release form with your submission; it can be found on the ComLine Page.

Know of an Inactive Meeting Still on the Meeting List?
We know that from time to time people try to attend a new meeting and no one is there.  It's frustrating - at best - when a current member of ACA has that happen, but it could be a lot more than frustrating for a newcomer.  While we would encourage people to call or email the meeting Contact before attending, they may not get a timely response.  But that shouldn't have to be a requirement.  If you know of a meeting that's still listed on our website but isn't actually happening, please send an email to [email protected] and we'll check it out as soon as possible.

Forwarding the Traveler to Friends
Have you ever forwarded the Traveler to some friends, only to be accidentally unsubscribed?  If you'd like to forward the Traveler to a friend, you can use the "Forward to a Friend" link at the bottom.  If you need to forward it to more than one friend, you can click "View this email in your browser" and share that URL or delete the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the Traveler Submissions area (email version only).

Resource Spotlight

International Literature

The ACA WSO continues to increase our support of international members and groups by now offering foreign language foundational literature.

There are efforts underway to translate our literature in many languages and some of them are getting very close to completion.  It has often been said carrying the message to adult children in their inner child's native language is the best way for them to receive it.

WSO welcomes anyone who is fluent in other languages to participate in our Literature Translations subcommittee.  If you would like more information about this important service work, please send an email to [email protected].

About Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACA)

ACA is a worldwide 12 Step / 12 Tradition program of recovery dedicated to people who were raised in dysfunctional families. ACA does not seek to assign blame to parents or caretakers, but we seek to understand the reality of how family dysfunctions affected us as children and still affects our adult behavior today.

Family dysfunction can include alcoholism, abandonment, neglect, or any type of addiction or abuse. ACA is synonymous with ACoA; Adult Children Anonymous; & Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families.
