ACA Adult Children of Alcoholics

May 2019

The 2019 ABC/AWC Was a Success!

We’d like to thank the Swedish Host Committee for their service in hosting a successful ABC/AWC.

Adult Children from around the world converged in Malmo, Sweden recently for the ABC and 4th annual ACA World Convention.  Representatives from 24 countries were in attendance; 20 delegates participated remotely.  The AWC was rich with speakers and workshops.

2019 AWC Workshops and Speakers - Audio downloads (MP3) of convention speakers and workshops will be available this month for purchase and download.  They will be posted soon at Shop.AdultChildren.Org.  Audio from previous years are available there as well.

Keeping the Meeting List Current
We know that from time to time people try to attend a meeting, no one is there and find out later the time or place had changed.  It can frustrating; for a newcomer, it can be discouraging.  Groups are asked to keep their contact information current by making any needed changes as soon as possible and checking information at least once a year.  More information can be found on the Meeting Changes page.  If you happen to know of a meeting that's still listed on our website but isn't actually happening or to update your meeting’s contact information, please send an email to [email protected].

Attention Intergroups and Webmasters
We can now update your meeting lists in bulk.  For more information, please send an email to [email protected].

What is the AmazonSmile Foundation?
The AmazonSmile Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation created by Amazon to administer the AmazonSmile program. All donation amounts generated by the AmazonSmile program are remitted to the AmazonSmile Foundation. In turn, the AmazonSmile Foundation donates those amounts to the charitable organizations selected by our customers. Amazon pays all expenses of the AmazonSmile Foundation; they are not deducted from the donation amounts generated by purchases on AmazonSmile.  More information can be found at Smile.Amazon.com.

Public Services Committee (PSC)  Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
Public Services has completed the production of 2 PSAs that are ready for immediate distribution to radio stations and other public broadcast venues. They are completely anonymous and can also be used on any public media platform including internet websites and social media to let people know about ACA and attract them to our fellowship.  The PSAs can be found here.

ABOUT ADULT CHILDREN OF ALCOHOLICS (ACA)

ACA is a worldwide 12 Step / 12 Tradition program of recovery dedicated to people who were raised in dysfunctional families. ACA does not seek to assign blame to parents or caretakers, but we seek to understand the reality of how family dysfunctions affected us as children and still affects our adult behavior today.

Family dysfunction can include alcoholism, abandonment, neglect, or any type of addiction or abuse. ACA is synonymous with ACoA; Adult Children Anonymous; & Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families.
