E. Announcements

Jeffrey opened by introducing the newest country representatives:

Mihai from Romania

Beryl from England and Wales

Alexia from Germany

Trifolds should have been uploaded by the end of November. Unfortunately, this was pushed back. Within the next week, all the trifolds in English in A4 and US format will be available for download on lit.adultchildren.org.

The availability of physical literature on the Amazon.co.uk website was delayed by issues on their end. Unfortunately, individuals not affiliated with ACA were using the organization’s name to sell used books. Amazon has had review all the incorrect information and fix the problem. They have almost sorted everything out. Hopefully, everything will be ready by Christmas.

A call to host the 4th annual ACA European Meeting was made. The third annual meeting was in Moscow. A report on that meeting will be available in ComLine. It will also appear on the new website.

New country representatives were reminded that with the new website coming online, the EC will require information about the fellowships in each country to help populate the website. A template will be made available to help facilitate this process.

The Castilian Spanish BRB will be made available in 2017. The translation is currently being reviewed and an e-book will be available in the first quarter. The physical copy should follow later in the year.

Majbrit announced that the Italian fellowship elected their intergroup during their 3rd national conference. They also have an unofficial country representative pending election. The Italian fellowship also has various translation projects in progress: Up to the 7th chapter of the BRB, up to June in the Meditation Book, and they have completed the Yellow Workbook. The Italian literature chair will be in contact with Jeffrey at some point in the future.

G. Updates

Website

Roderick updated the fellowship on the status of the website. The current plan is to have the website up by mid-December and then for all the information to be populated. As soon as content is created and ready, it can be published. The only limiting factor is not having the information.

Jeffrey confirmed that they would start working on content to put on the website. The website will be in an under-construction status until mid-January, most likely.

Roderick also confirmed that the meeting page will have a link to the main ACA website. Individual meeting information will not be recorded on the EC website. Visitors will be redirected to the main ACA web page to learn about meetings.

Alexia asked for clarification into how the member section will work. At this time the plan is for Country Representatives to send the information and then have the EC post it.

Mihai asked if the pages would be in English or in the national language of the country. Roderick clarified that the main language of the website will be English. Translations can be done by google translate if needed. Links to national ACA fellowship sites that are in a different language are encouraged if they exist.

A section on merchandising will also be added to the website as more details are made available.

H. Guest Questions

Michael asked which serenity prayer people should use. He also asked about how to deal with burnout. Jeffrey’s opinion on the serenity prayer is that it is a group conscience and personal choice decision. Regarding service burnout, this topic was brought up in several committees. Once people reach a certain level in the program, then they start the service process. In situations where people do “too much”, get fed-up and leave, Jeffrey stated that it’s a matter of working to get others involved in service to help share the burden. “Some people are simply waiting to be asked. Allowing people to serve in some small capacity is a good way to bring that about.”

Bernard from Germany wanted to know if it is possible to order from Amazon using Euro. Amazon.co.uk can support payments from currencies other than pound, but it relies on your own bank making the currency exchange. Amazon only offers as currency exchange calculator so you can see what the most likely rate is. Bank fees still apply.

Linda announced that on February 11th, there will be a second ACA event in Latvia. They invite anyone who wants to come to their ACA event. They are particularly interested in finding a speaker who has experience organizing Hospital and Institutions.

Mihai asked who to consult about translations and disseminations of upcoming translations. Jeffrey offered his service in this matter.

Questions were asked about a possibly new translation agreement. The German fellowship is not pleased with the number of forms involved in the process. Jeffrey was not aware of a new contract and offered to look into the situation with Robin and Larry.

I. Meeting Closed

Jeffrey motioned to close the meeting and it was seconded. The meeting was closed with the Serenity Prayer.
