LITERATURE COMMITTEE REPORT FOR JUNE 2017

(2017 MAY Activities)

CALL FOR LITERATURE COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS! TRANSLATORS, WRITERS, EDITORS, PROOFREADERS, ILLUSTRATORS, GRAPHIC DESIGNERS, LAYOUT SPECIALISTS, AND PHOTOGRAPHERS WANTED!!

We have a lot of exciting projects in the works – including enthusiastic teams of volunteers to help us shape the future of ACA.

Literature Evaluation Subcommittee

The new Literature Evaluation Subcommittee is now formed and in action. The team establishes small ad hoc review groups of 2-3 members to review various literature submissions. They meet regularly via teleconference. They meet every two months, and their next meeting is scheduled for August.

ComLine

Volunteer activity is increasing. We currently have several excellent proofreaders. Many thanks go Marie Karen, Ellen, Phyllis, Cheryl, and Laura. More proofreaders are always appreciated, so if you are interested, email [email protected]. Patti continues to provide us with her wonderful typesetting talents.

We are also accepting submissions for the 3rd quarter 2017 ComLine; submissions are due by June 1, 2017. The themes for this upcoming issue are Steps and Traditions, 7, 8 and 9. Remember, we are also looking for poetry and artwork! We look for personal stories of experience, strength, and hope.

Send your submissions to [email protected]. Please include the release form found on http://www.adultchildren.org/comline

The focus of each issue follows:

  • January – March (1st Quarter), Steps 1, 2, 3 and Traditions 1, 2, 3
  • April – June (2nd Quarter) Steps 4, 5, 6 and Traditions 4, 5, 6
  • July – September (3rd Quarter), Steps 7, 8, 9 and Traditions 7, 8, 9
  • October – December (4th Quarter) Steps 10, 11, 12 and Traditions 10, 11, 12

We especially appreciate shares from adult children from around the world. Please share in the language of your childhood; we will publish your share in your language.

We are looking into the possibility of printing a hardcopy annual ComLine. This will contain all four issues from 2016, as well as the special ABC issue.

Previous ComLine issues are downloadable for free from http://www.adultchildren.org/comline.

Translations

The Spanish for Spain BRB e-book is in review and preproduction. We anticipate offering it as an e-book and print book in late 2017 to early 2018.

Production of Russian BRB is with Russia for completion and distribution.

Alltri-folds and booklets offered for sale in the shopping cart are translated to Danish, Spanish, Finnish, and Russian. Finnish is currently in preproduction; Spanish trifolds are in the vetting process prior to upload.

We continue to add new and updated translations to the free literature for download page. All trifolds in all languages are scheduled for adition to our free literature page. Free downloads are on our site at http://www.adultchildren.org/non-english-literature.

Strengthening My Recovery

Greek translation is in layout. Layout should be done by end of June; it will then be ready for the Greek translation group to review prior to printing. The Spanish translation is ready for linguistic review, after which layout can commence.
